Gentech Receives RBS Award for Best International Business
Tuesday, November 29, 2011
Gentech Sensors has been awarded the Royal Bank of Scotland Award for Best International Business by the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI). The council singled out the SCR Sensor for praise, highlighting its pivotal role in reducing diesel carbon emissions in line with recent legislation. The event on 18th November took place at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow, and the keynote speaker was Kofi Annan, former secretary-general of the United Nations.
Angela Simkins, Gentech’s managing director commented, “Gentech is proud to receive this prestigious award and is dedicated to the design and manufacturing of sensors and sensor-based systems for on-road and off-road vehicles to meet legislated emissions requirements.”
Gentech was acquired by Measurement Specialties, Inc (MEAS) on October 31, 2011, due to its portfolio of position sensors used for tank liquid level management, including urea tank level in heavy truck SCR systems. The business combination provides a clear roadmap for MEAS to expand its urea quality systems to SCR tanks, through combined level/quality SCR measurement.
